Got a started on some paperwork. I started working on my educational contract. Those are always fun. I have also started on a proposal. My first one ever. This will be such a fun learning experience... The paperwork stuff is not fun at all. It's like lesson planning but with social work theories and practices.
Speaking of lesson planning and all that fun teacher stuff, sometimes I find myself wondering what is appropriate and not appropriate to accept as assignments while I intern here as a social worker. They want me to figure out a system to make the place more structured, enforce rules, and discipline the children that come here. A lot of my ideas that came to mind reminded me of my teaching days when I struggled with classroom management. But of course working with children, even as a social worker, there will be times where I will need structure and rules implemented. If those aren't set and solid, then I will have a hard time assessing the kids and will have less success with the sessions I have planned. I just don't know. Am I being a teacher or am I being a social worker?
